CAMBODIAN - SOUTH-EAST ASIAN > >

Nestled amongst the mountains of Southeast Asia is a quiet country with an intoxicating past. Cambodia, once known as the Khmer Empire, ruled much of what is now Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam at the height of their power. The remains of this empire can be seen at the fabled temples of Angkor, monumentsunrivaled in scale and grandeur in Southeast Asia.

But the beauty of this country is in more than just its ancient temples or the charming lifestyles of the Khmer people. The food culture is not to be missed. Khmer food is a collection of various influences, pulling flavors from their days as a French Indochina colony, tastes of mainland China from the numerous Chinese immigrants, and influences from their neighbors Thailand and Vietnam.

BRANDING SYSTEM

LOGO, COLORS, AND PATTERNS > >

The Angkor logo is a reference to the famous Angkor Wat with its unique temple architecture. The roof silhouette has been distilled into an minimalist arrow shape, repeated at different sizes and orientations to emulate the rising towers.

The geometric patterns weave together with the bold colors of the country create a branding system that captures the velocity of a country transitioning from ancient roots to a modern metropolis.

MENU & STATIONARY > >

The menu is enclosed in a hardcover case. The interior pages are folded in an accordion style format, which allows the menu to be viewed in a variety of ways. Either it can be pulled fully out to see all the offerings at once, or held in the initial folded position and flipped in two page portions like how one would flip a book.

The stationary keeps a minimalistic design, paring down the brand colors to just charcoal black, white, and red as the accent color.
